It’s been a really busy year for us and we thought we’d take some time to profile a recent customer of ours – The Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney who ordered custom made banquet chairs from Nufurn.

The Shangri-La Hotel is an integral venue within the Sydney event and conference market and has always taken great pride in being at the forefront of event and conference management while maintaining exceptional event space. At the end of November 2012, we delivered one thousand brand new, custom made banquet chairs to the hotel. Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney host more than 1,000 functions/events a year and choosing the right banquet seating for their hotel was of critical importance. Ajay Sharma, Assistant Director of Food and Beverage / Banquet operations with the hotel, spent over 18 months working with us on the design requirements for their new seating. This included two rounds of physical chair prototyping. Once all hotel requirements had been met, the order was signed off for production with 1000 custom made banquet chairs being manufactured and delivered to the hotel within 12 weeks.
Aside from the obvious requirements of durability, weight and warranty, the ergonomic comfort of guests was paramount. In custom designing their banquet chairs, Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney signed off on the Pinnacle Flex Back Banquet chair in aluminium which helped to reduce overall weight. The hotel is now one of a handful of venues in Australia that offer facilities with the exceptional comfort of flex back banquet seating.
